Life's Spy....

A deep blue pond,a forest lush
a magic grotto,and someplace afar
a church bell chimes;
amid all this ,ah! would you see
 a crouching nymphette ,
langourous,dreamy and panting still
that  winged psyche of  torrid times

Fabric of her soul, a two toned cloth,
of golden weave and, weft of dross;
her raiment billowing,unfolding
 an  eloquent tale of truth and gloss,
of triumphant moments on wings of toil
of beating hearts ,of throbbing pulses
of blooming blossoms and  withering moss .

Bold in step and a kindred spirit,
fiesty, daring ,with   twinkling eyes
an elfin fay of  childlike joy,
dances tip-tap on rainbow paths
lambent, luminous and so, so coy,
she pauses ,starts, then grim, remembers
her youthful antics....and softly sighs.

She gently sways ,seeking balance
between poetic raptures and peasant toils,
 anguished ,lonely ,speechless stares
at broken  mirrors,at ashen fires,
at unkept dates at voices lost,
forlorn ,aghast ,then softly surrenders
to the heartless squeeze of tightening coils.
